Although my name is Enepi, outside the cyberworld I use the nick Nacho Morejón Guerrero.
I was born in Huelva, Spain, in 1972. As Huelva is very close to the portuguese border, my first trips were to Portugal to buy towels or to eat rice with lobster, both typical things to do if you are from my hometown when visiting our neighbours.
When I was 15 and 16 I spent a summer each year in Brighton, England, theoretically to learn english, but as I went with all my childhood friends we spoke mostly in spanish. Did not learn that much though but I had an amazing time.
In the summer of 89 I crossed the Atlantic for the first time and spent part of the summer in Bethlehem, PA. I visited NY, Washington DC, Boston…probably my very first real trip abroad even if it was not organised by myself.
During my first years at uni I mostly stopped travelling abroad, just managed to visit Paris in 93 with a big group of uni friends and I had the best of times. I think this trip was a sort of wake up call for the traveller I always had inside.
So in 96 is when I start travelling on a regular basis, going that year to Germany and the Czech Republic in the winter and doing the interrail around Italy during the summer. Italy had always been my dream destination and it exceeded my expectations by far. Still to this day one of my top 5. In 97 I did another interrail, this time visiting many european capitals and other big cities. Also in 97 I went to Africa for the first time, visiting legendary Egypt with my family.
From that moment on I travelled on a good pace (Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Nepal, India, Argentina, Canada, Greece, Brasil, a year living in the USA, some months living in Holland…), but the real breakthrough in my travelling life happened in 2004 when I moved to London. Travelling from London is much easier (and much cheaper) than from Spain.
Since that year I have done over 70 trips (and counting) and I have visited dozens of countries, some of them going back few times, others just one, but all very much enjoyed. Listed, 57 in total and hoping to increase the number soon.
Africa (6): Morocco, Egypt, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tunisia.
America (12): Canada, USA, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Antigua&Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Ecuador&Galapagos, Colombia, Brasil, Argentina.
Asia (7): India, Nepal, China, Japan, Vietnam, Maldives, Sri Lanka.
Europe (30): Spain, Portugal, Andorra, France, Monaco, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Vatican, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Malta, Sweden, Montenegro, Lithuania.
Middle East(2): Jordan, Turkey.
And about those things that nobody cares, like work for example, I studied Telecommunications Engineering in Vigo, Spain, and then did the research for my thesis at Ohio State University, in USA (one of the best years of my life).
My first job was with CMG WDS in Holland, then I was sent to the Madrid office. In 2004 I left LogicaCMG (new name after merger), moved to London and worked for a year and a half in Empower Interactive Group. In 2006 I joined O2 Uk where I have been working since. My main background is messaging: SMS, MMS, Voicemail…
My wife, Izumi Takahashi, is japanese and we are expecting our first daughter who will be born in late June 2012. That is going to be the best trip ever. Japan is very present in my everyday life. I love going to Japan to visit the family and friends. It is a fascinating country and the more you go the more there is to discover and enjoy.

I was wondering how you liked your trip to the Maldives & where you ended up staying. I too am planning a trip there (or the Seychelles) for our anniversary and would appreciate your insight.
Thank You
Jessie

Hello Jessie, thanks for your message.
I have not been to Maldives…yet.
I will be going this coming September. After a thorough research I will be going to Angsana Ihuru, find the web below:
http://www.angsana.com/EN/Properties/Ihuru
The best book I found about resorts was this:
Resorts of Maldives (Guidebook Format)
I also checked http://www.tripadvisor.com, Lonely Planet guide and Lonely Planet Forum and booked my trip with http://www.trailfinders.com
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
Kind Regards

Dear Enepi,
I admire your travelling record. I love travelling a lot but it seems I cannot get near to your record
Hoping that you and your wife will visit Vietnam again soon?

Hi Enepi
First of all, I’m stoked I found your blog. I’ve been trying to learn Spanish for the past few months, so I reckon reading about your travels in both languages could really help me.
Very soon I’m gonna head out for about a 7 month travelling stint, 40 days of which will be spent in Europe. My girlfriend and I will be visiting mostly capitals of Central Europe, unfortunately, with more time and money I’d love to fully do just 1 or 2 countries(Spain and Italy would be amazing). Anyway, a good 2 weeks or so will be in Madrid/Rome/Naples…do you by any chance have any tips on good things to do, or how to have fun, and still have a budget holiday at the same time in Europe?
Awesome, I look forward to hearing from you
Luke

Hi,
I just read most of your blog on driving in Turkey. I am in the early planning stages of a 4 week trip to Greece and Turkey. I am thinking of taking a ferry to Marmaris and then renting a car and driving up to Izmir. My question is:
I am a 44 year old single woman traveling alone. Do you think it is safe enough? I am a very experienced traveler, with good common sense. I will be there in the month of March

Hi Melissa, thanks for your message.
In my opinion Turkey is a very safe country and you will be fine, even more if, as you say, you are experienced.
This is a common question in travelling forums, I leave you a link so you can read asnwers to the same question and decide for yourself
